What Is SERP (Search Engine Results Page)?
A SERP is the page a search engine shows in response to a query, containing organic results, ads and special features like featured snippets.
SERP stands for Search Engine Results Page — the page you see after typing a query into Google, Bing or another search engine. A modern SERP mixes traditional organic listings with paid ads, featured snippets, "People also ask" boxes, image packs, maps and AI-generated overviews.
SEO is fundamentally the practice of earning better placement on SERPs. Position matters enormously: the first organic result typically receives around 25–30% of all clicks, and click-through rates drop sharply with each position below it.
