What Is Core Web Vitals?

Core Web Vitals are Google’s three user-experience metrics — LCP, INP and CLS — measuring loading speed, interactivity and visual stability.

Core Web Vitals are a set of three metrics Google uses to score real-world page experience: Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) measures loading speed, Interaction to Next Paint (INP) measures responsiveness to clicks and taps, and Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) measures how much the layout jumps around while loading.

The passing thresholds are an LCP under 2.5 seconds, INP under 200 milliseconds and CLS under 0.1, measured for real Chrome users. They are a confirmed (if modest) ranking signal and a strong proxy for user satisfaction.
